The Chaos The Bliss 006

Every time my kids get ice cream from an ice cream truck I can’t help but reflect to my first time hearing Eddie Murphys album version of: “Delirious.” As my brother and I ride in the back seat of my Fathers 98 Black Aura with the multi CD-Disc changer in the trunk:

“Ice cream! Ice cream! THE ICE CREAM MAN IS COMING THE ICE CREAM MAN IS COMING! MOM THROW DOWN SOME MONEY!”

We laughed the entire ride and his bit about the ice cream man still makes me laugh til this day.  As I talked about in my previous blog, the moments within the moments are what I remember most about my time with my Father growing up.  In this particular moment it was my fathers weekend to spend with my brother and I, as my parents were divorced. During this quiet ride when we all wanted to talk about what was wrong, maybe even wanted to cry as we as kids still didn’t understand, why?

We just rode in silence, until we heard the ice cream man…. ICE CREAM!
